Salopette : Knit Doll Keito

Keito's salopettes is designed with leather suspenders on the bib pants.

This salopettes is designed to fit the body size of the knitted doll Keito.

Needles

◇US 2.5 (3 mm Needle) Used for cast-on.

◇US 2 (2.75 mm DPNs)

◇US 6 (4 mm Needle) Used for pants hem bind-off.

Pattern Gauge

15 sts 20 rows (US 2 / 2.75 mm needles)

Measured after blocking stocking stitch of 5 cm square.

Adjust the size of the needle as needed to get the above gauge.

Method

◇Longtail Cast On

◇invisible joining

This is a way to avoid holes when joining stitches at the cast-on round. If you use this method, add one stitch to the number of cast-on stitches.

1.Slip one loop of the left needle to the right needle. 2.Pass one loop of the right needle over its stitch.

3.Return the slipped loop on the right needle to the left needle. Pull the yarn so that the joint does not loosen.

◇Forward Loop Cast On

◇German Short Rows

step1-WS Slip one stitch of the left needle to the right needle. Then, pull the working yarn upwards and the stitch will look like two stitches(double stitch). Bring the working yarn to the front while keeping that state. And knit the next stitch.

step2-WS. Knit a double stitch like a p2tog.

step1-RS. Bring the yarn in front, sl1p, Then pull the working yarn upwards for a double stitch. Keeping that double stitch, knit the next stitch.

step2-RS. Knit a double stitch like a k2tog.

Pattern

Keito's Salopette is knit starting at the waist and working toward the hem.

In the process, divide the stitches into the left leg and place that stitches on hold.

When the right leg is completed first, put the left leg stitches back on the needle and knit toward the hem.

After knitting the right leg up to 70rounds or from the cast on-edge of the front waist to 17.5 cm, garter stitch of the hem begins. The left leg is knitted so that it is the same length as the right leg.

After completing the pants, pick up the stitches from the front edge of the waist and knit the bib.

Next, make suspenders and attach it to the salopette to complete the work.

At the beginning and end of the knitting, leave about 10 cm of yarn ends and weave them into the stitches as a finishing.

Waist~Hip

[Using 3 mm Needle] Longtail Cast On 42 sts.

Round1 [Using 2.75 mm DPNs] Distribute 42 sts to 3 needles. Work in the round knitting. Be careful not to twist.

Attach the locking marker to the cast-on edge at the bib position.

Round15 Divide the stitches to the left leg.

Move the 25 sts(Left leg) to the scrap yarn. Distribute the 25 sts(Right leg) to 3 needles. It is in the order of “10 sts, 11 sts, 4 sts" clockwise from the crotch. Forward loop cast on 8 sts. Round1 [Using US 2 / 2.75 mm DPNs] Distribute the 25 stitches in the scrap yarn to the 3 needles.

It is in the order of “4 sts, 11 sts, 10 sts" clockwise from the crotch.

◇Pick up 8 sts from the crotch. Using a crochet hook makes it easy. Leave 10 cm yarn ends for closing hole.

◇Joining the crotch stitch onto the leg stitch.

Knit using the needle that picked up the crotch-stitches.

1)Follow the sinker loop of the first stitch of the left needle to the right, and pick up the loop from the back with the left needle.

2)knit the first stitch of the left needle and the stitch picked up together. Same as k2tog. Continue, k3

◇Next needle. k11

◇Next needle. k9, sl1k

◇Joining the leg stitch onto the crotch stitch.

1)Yarn ends is put out to the outside.

2)Find the yarn that across under the first stitch in the next needle.

3)Insert crochet hook from under the yarn and pick up the working yarn.

4)Twist the stitch and move to the right needle.

5)Then pass sl1 over its stitch. BOR(The round begins before the crotch.), pm

Pull the yarn ends of the crotch joint to prevent the stitches from loosening.

[Using 2.75 mm Needles] Work in flat knitting.

Set-Up Row (RS) Pick up the stitches from the edge of the waist with the waist of the pants facing up.

Pick up 21 stitches including the marker stitches, starting from the right.

Finish (WS) Bind-off knitwise using 2.75 mm needle. Cut the yarn.

Weave all yarn ends into stitches. Wash in water and shape.

Make suspenders

Suspenders Clip Materials

◇Sewing hook Width/8.9 mm, Length/12 mm　2 pieces

◇Wire cutter

◇Nose pliers

1.The suspenders clip is made by processing the sewing hook.

2.Cut off the center of the sewing hook with a wire cutter.

3.Extend the curl part with pliers as shown in the photo.

4.Thread the leather band through the clip.

Leather Band materials

◇Thin leather Width/6mm, Length/18cm 2 pieces

◇Adhesive for leather

Cut the leather to the above size to make the band.

Put the band through the clip, bend about 1cm and attach with adhesive. Then, pass the suspender band through the hole in the back of the pants and attach it with adhesive or thread.
